Biography

Hester grew up dancing professionally with her sisters and friends in a street dance troupe, managed by her fitness entrepreneur mother, Lydia Campbell. She achieved a BA Hons in Film & Animation Production, then turned her focus to dance and completed several courses leading to BA Dance Theatre from Laban. Fitness has been a way of life for Hester, who commenced teaching group exercise at 16. Hester now teaches at all Gymbox clubs and is a professional dancer and aerialist for the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Aircraft Circus.

How does Gymbox as a brand reflect your personality?

'Anything Goes' is the part of the Gymbox brand that I relate to most. I've always wanted to do different things and train in different ways, at Gymbox everyone is included!!

What music style describes you?

I like ska, breakbeat, funk, gospel, folk, alternative, classical & musical theatre!! I'm eclectic.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Pain au Raisin from Pret, still piping hot.

What is your favourite thing about Gymbox?

The people ... members, staff, instructors, PTs, they make it what it is!!

Who is your favourite rockstar?

Kate Bush, Skunk Anansie, Prodigy, Rizzle Kicks, Joni Mitchell, Mos Def, Jill Scott & many more (depends on my mood)!
