Promotion terms & conditions

Promos are great, but they do come with a few rules. Here’s what you need to know to get the most out of our offers. 

1. general rules

  • Promotions are only valid for the specific membership type and term stated in the offer. 

  • We cannot honour expired or outdated promotions.  

  • If you receive a promotional offer by email or through our marketing after you’ve already joined, it will not apply to your existing membership. 

  • Promotional offers cannot be carried over if you place your membership on freeze. 

  • If you cancel your membership early (before completing the minimum term set out in your membership agreement), we reserve the right to recover the value of any promotional benefit you received (e.g., free months and/or discounted rates). 

  • If you choose to extend or renew your membership, you won’t be able to use a promotion that was available when you first joined. Only the promotions active at the time of your renewal may apply, if eligible, and these may differ from offers available to new members.  

2. Free Promotional Months/Days

Some promotions include free time at the start of your membership. This is added on top of your minimum term. 

Example Promotion: You sign up for a 12-month membership and receive “rest of the month” free, your contract runs for approx. 12.5 months in total depending on your agreement start date. 

Scenario: Your membership starts on 10th September, your free period covers 10th September – 30th September. From 1st October your paid 12-month minimum term begins. Your membership will then run until 30th September of the following year (provided you don’t freeze your membership or make any other adjustments to your minimum term). After this, it will automatically continue on a monthly rolling basis, cancellable with one full calendar months’ notice. 

3. Referral Scheme

The Gymbox Refer a Friend campaign awards one free calendar month’s membership to both an existing member (referrer) and a new member (referee) that has joined Gymbox as a member. 
 
In order to qualify for the award, the unique referral code must be added by the referee at the point of sign up. The referee will be awarded the free month before their first monthly billing cycle, and this will extend their obligation date by one month. The referrer will receive a free month at the end of their minimum term i.e. if the referrer is in a 12-month contract with an obligation date of 31st October, then the free month will come into effect from 1st-30th November and therefore the membership fees will not be charged in November. 

We cannot honour a post-date referral that was not added at the point of sign up. 

Referral codes can only be redeemed against 12-month memberships, and the bonus period will be applied 14 days after the start of the referee’s membership. 

There is no maximum number of referees that a member can refer. A new member can only be referred by one referrer.
