DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOT (AND COLD)

Gymbox Finsbury Park Infrared Sauna
WHAT IS CONTRAST THERAPY?

The art (and science) of alternating between heat and cold exposure in order to:

  • Recover faster
  • Reduce soreness
  • Train more often
  • Feel like a badass

It goes a little something like this:
SAUNA → COLD PLUNGE → REPEAT
or
HOT SHOWER → COLD BLAST → REPEAT

Either way, it’s full-body recovery that hits you from both sides. Your nervous system loves it, it just might take you a little longer to feel the same.

why should i embrace the contrast?

Because recovery is the difference between training and actually improving.

Contrast Therapy helps you:

  • Flush out lactic acid
  • Improve circulation: which speed up healing
  • Boost mental clarity: cold wakes you up, heat chills you out
  • Sleep better: because your nervous system is calmer

It’s time to embrace performance recovery

Pro Tips for Maximum Gains
  1. Start with heat to open up the blood vessels
  2. Hit the cold for 1–3 minutes (build this up)
  3. Alternate 2–3 rounds to achieve the best results
  4. Finish cold for that main character energy.

Combine with a Personal Training session or Hyrox classbeforehand and you’ve unlocked elite mode.

Do I need to book?

Nope, saunas and cold plunges are drop in, and included in your membership. If there’s space then go for it.

Absolutely. It’s especially good after a heavy lifting session, or anytime you want to recover faster

At Finsbury Park the cold plunges are 3°C. At other clubs, use the coldest shower setting for the same thrill.

Swimwear is required for the saunas and cold plunge, do your thing in the showers.

Yes the cold plunge is chlorinated and everything is monitored and maintained. We ask all members to shower before using the cold plunge and the saunas to help us keep everything as clean as possible.
