The most fun you’ll ever have while sweating through your eyeballs

Hyrox Gymbox - member running
Wtf is hyrox?

Think you’re fit? Cute. Hyrox is here to test that theory.

Hyrox is made up of 8 x functional workout stations and 8 x 1KM runs, back to back, no mercy. It’s a race. A grind. It’s gloriously type-2 fun. And Gymbox is your official training ground.

Gymbox has 7 Hyrox affiliated clubs where we run dedicated Hyrox classes. Whether you’re chasing your first finish line, a podium spot, or just want to survive sled pushes without seeing stars, we’ve got you.

the set up

Imagine a fitness race designed by someone who hates rest days.

You’ll do:

  • 1km run

  • Then a functional workout (specifically: ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, sandbag lunges, farmer’s carries, wall balls)

  • Repeat x8

It’s timed. It’s global. You can compete solo, in doubles, or with a relay squad. And it’s 100% scalable which means yes, even your mate who thinks lifting beers is training can get involved.

'ROX IN THE 'BOX
  • Hyrox classes run at Gymbox’s 7 affiliated clubs
  • Sessions are 45 or 90 minutes
  • You’ll train like you race, but with fewer people screaming
  • All levels welcome: newbies, nutters, ninjas

Our coaches know their stuff and know your limits — then push you past them.

They’ll offer progressions and regressions based on your fitness, skill, or dare WE say it, injury status. You’ll be supported and destroyed  (in the best way)

CAN I ACTUALLY DO THIS?

Yes. Unless you hate effort and progress.

Our Hyrox sessions are completely inclusive. You don’t need to be an athlete, just willing to give it some welly. We’ll meet you where you’re at, and then raise the bar. Literally.

Whether you’re:

  • Getting race-ready

  • Practising your Ski Erg poses for the comp photos

  • Or just here to cancel out last night’s tequila

You’ll fit right in.

What is Hyrox and what does a race involve?

Hyrox is a global indoor fitness race that combines running with functional strength exercises. Every race follows the same format: 8 x 1km runs, each immediately followed by one of eight functional workout stations: ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. It’s timed, fully scalable, and open to all fitness levels. The format never changes, which means you always know exactly what you’re training for.

Yes. Gymbox is an official Hyrox affiliated gym, with 7 affiliated clubs across London: Bank, Ealing, Elephant and Castle, Farringdon, Finsbury Park, Westfield Shepherds Bush, and Westfield Stratford. Affiliated status means our coaches receive training templates and programme updates directly from Hyrox, and our sessions are built around competition-standard equipment and methodology.

No. You don’t need to be an athlete, you just need to be willing to put the work in. All Gymbox Hyrox classes are completely scalable, with coaches offering progressions and regressions based on your current fitness level, experience, and any injury considerations. Whether you’ve never done a sled push in your life or you’re a seasoned competitor chasing a podium, you’ll be coached appropriately and pushed at the right level.

Gymbox runs both 45-minute and 90-minute Hyrox sessions. The class length is shown when you book through the Gymbox app. The 45-minute sessions are ideal for focused station-specific work; the 90-minute sessions allow for more complete race simulation training, including running intervals between stations.

Hyrox classes are available at 7 Gymbox locations: Bank, Ealing, Elephant and Castle, Farringdon, Finsbury Park, Holborn, and Old Street. All 7 are official Hyrox affiliated clubs. You can view the full class timetable at gymbox.com/class/hyrox/ and filter by location.

Yes. Hyrox classes are included as part of a standard Gymbox membership with no extra charge. Gymbox memberships start from £82 per month on a 12-month contract and include unlimited classes across all seven categories, including Hyrox, at your home club. You can also book a free trial to try a Hyrox session before joining.

Most beginners can complete a Hyrox race after 8 to 12 weeks of consistent, race-specific training. The key is building both cardiovascular endurance and station-specific strength, particularly for the sled push, sandbag lunges, and wall balls, which are where most first-timers lose the most time. Gymbox coaches can help you structure a training block around a specific race date, and our Personal Trainers can create a bespoke Hyrox prep programme if you want individual support.

Yes. Our coaches run Hyrox simulations and partial simulations (a set percentage of the full race format) periodically throughout the year. These sessions replicate race conditions: running between stations, managing transitions, and tracking your time, so you can benchmark your progress and practise your pacing strategy before a real event. Your coach will let you know when simulations are scheduled.

All 7 Gymbox Hyrox affiliated clubs are equipped with the full set of competition-standard Hyrox stations: ski erg, sleds (push and pull), rowing machines, farmers carry handles, sandbags for lunges, and wall ball targets. Clubs also have functional fitness rigs, sled tracks, and sprint/running areas to replicate the running legs of a race. Farringdon additionally features a full sprint track.

Hyrox races offer several divisions to suit different experience levels and team formats. The Open division is designed for everyday athletes and is the most popular entry point. The Pro division is for competitive athletes targeting fast finish times. You can also enter as a Doubles team (two people sharing the work) or as a mixed, men’s, or women’s doubles pair. Relay is available for teams of four. All divisions complete the same course, with weights and rep counts varying by division.

The next Hyrox London race is scheduled for 2 to 6 December 2026 at ExCeL London. London is one of the most popular Hyrox cities in the world and events regularly sell out, so registering early is strongly recommended. Check hyrox.com for official registration dates and ticket availability.

Yes. Gymbox has Personal Trainers experienced in Hyrox-specific programming across all affiliated clubs. A PT can design a structured training plan tailored to your current fitness level, target race division, and race date, covering running volume, station-specific strength work, transitions, and recovery. You can find and book a Gymbox PT at gymbox.com/personal-training.

Hyrox training puts significant demands on both the cardiovascular system and the muscles, so recovery is as important as the training itself. All Gymbox locations include recovery facilities as part of membership: Hyperice recovery zones (compression boots, percussion therapy), infrared saunas, and red light therapy, all of which support faster muscle recovery and reduced inflammation. Breathwork sessions are also available at select clubs. We’d recommend building at least one dedicated recovery session per week into your Hyrox training block.

Gymbox is one of the few London gyms where everything a Hyrox athlete needs is included in a single membership. You get official Hyrox affiliated training across 7 London clubs, unlimited classes, and the full recovery stack that most Hyrox-focused gyms either don’t have or charge extra for: Hyperice recovery zones with compression boots and percussion therapy, infrared saunas, red light therapy, and breathwork sessions. Serious Hyrox training breaks the body down; being able to recover properly in the same venue, on the same membership, makes a real difference to training frequency and consistency. Memberships start from £82 per month.

Gymbox sits in a unique position in the London Hyrox market. Most gyms offering Hyrox training fall into one of two camps: budget operators with the equipment but no recovery facilities, or premium clubs with dedicated Hyrox studios at luxury gym prices, where recovery is a separate add-on membership. Gymbox bridges the gap: official Hyrox affiliated training across 7 London clubs, competition-standard equipment, experienced coaches, race simulations, and a full recovery suite (Hyperice, red light therapy, infrared saunas, breathwork), all included in a single membership from £82 per month. For athletes who want to train seriously for Hyrox without paying luxury gym prices or bolting on separate recovery memberships, Gymbox is the strongest all-in proposition in London.
